The Akmenė region has long-standing traditions in industry, manufacturing and energy. It is located in the Northwestern region of Lithuania, near the border with Latvia. Roads and railways connect the region to 4 seaports, it is easily accessible from the airports of Riga, Klaipėda and Kaunas. Also, the semi-military Šiauliai airport is suitable for cargo transport.

Colleges, vocational training centers, technical schools and universities we partner with operate close to the Akmenė free economic zone.

The Akmenė municipality favors both businesses and residents, especially young families. The municipality plans to reach a population of 30,000 by 2030, and we contribute to this goal with investments, job opportunities, residential quarter construction projects and other initiatives.

Akmenė FEZ is located 2-4 km from the center of Naujoji Akmenė and its schools, residential areas, hotels and dining establishments.

We offer investors plots of land in a total area of almost 100 hectares with powerful and modern engineering infrastructure: electricity, gas, water supply and sewage system. There is a railway branch for convenient cargo movement, and parking lots as well as bicycle paths for the convenience of employees and guests.

Infrastructure solutions at Akmenė FEZ are implemented in close cooperation with the Akmenė district municipality – roads, water supply, rain and sewage networks, area lighting and drainage systems have been installed and further improved.

Our business community already hosts companies from timber, construction material, technical maintenance, energy and other areas. Akmenė FEZ companies have already invested more than 300 million euros.
